Relaunch of all corporate websites of the KALO Group with TYPO3
Overview
The customer
The KALO Group is a nationwide network of companies in the energy and metering services sector. Perhaps the best known of these is KALORIMETA Messdienste, one of the leading companies in the field of consumption-based billing for heat and water.
The KALO Group includes KALORIMETA Messdienste, URBANA Energietechnik and IKW Inkassodienst. KALO provides energy supply and financing contracting, technical plant and building management and technical building equipment, right through to complete energy management.
It also provides heating and operating cost billing, energy certificates for properties, a smoke detector service, receivables management and debt collection as well as a complete range of measuring devices. (Source: KALO Group)
The project
The previously different layouts of the subsidiaries were to be adapted to a uniform new corporate design. The marketing department of the KALO Group wanted to be able to maintain all websites from a single source.
The realization
Together with the KALO Group and after extensive analysis and consultation, atlantis dx selected the TYPO3 content management system for the relaunch. TYPO3 is multi-site capable. This means that any number of independent websites can be operated in just one TYPO3 installation. This is ideal for the KALO Group's network of companies.
A sophisticated editorial concept in TYPO3 enables precise definition of access rights and user groups. Thanks to differently assigned roles, KALO employees can only work in the areas of the website approved for them. This protects KALO from unauthorized access to company data.
There is also a central news pool on the new website. The news (e.g. press releases, current events, job vacancies) can be displayed via categories on the various subsidiary company pages. This eliminates the need to maintain news twice in different systems. This saves time and, of course, money.
Due to the division of KALORIMETA into several administrative areas, it is necessary to set up a contact search by zip code for customers. With this, users can now obtain all the necessary information and contact details for the respective area managers directly and at the click of a mouse.
The relaunch of the website was followed by comprehensive consulting and several training sessions on search engine optimization and usability/content optimization. atlantis dx is available to the KALO Group as a permanent contact for support and enhancements.
